Docklands is a developing landscape that full of potential. To many people, especially tourists, Docklands is a must-go-and-visit place, or it’s perceived as icon of Melbourne. Due to its convenient location and easy accessibility, Docklands will nevertheless become a hot tourism spot as well as a ideal relaxation area for Melbourne residents. North wharf is yet to be developed as much as the rest of Docklands (Water front city etc). Currently there are only visitors with specific purpose (boating, fishing, event), it draws less casual visiting crowd.

For development of North Wharf, It should remain its unique charm in the presence of waterscape, openness, fresh air, good ventilation. It should avoid being too commercialised but to carry out an art sense which reflects unique Melbourne. Giving residents a sense of belonging, acting as an icon in the eyes of tourists should be the fundamental objective for the development.

An open public space is needed for community gathering. This Open Spaces should be defined as it has potential to be de developed into pleasant, spacious, relaxed areas which complement the surroundings and provide relief from other land development. It should take advantage of views and landscapes and natural physical features can be for passive use or active use and of formal or informal character.

I am thinking creating a convertible public space, using water as space separation, giving its visitors sensuous enjoyments.
